Took my Mercedes in because it had a check engine light and ended up paying $300 for them to give my car 16 extra check engine codes! It’s my first time taking my vehicle to them and my last because they basically messed up my car even more and didn’t even tell me what the issue is and making me take my car somewhere else. Very disappointed since they claim their the “dealer alternative” for Mercedes but don’t know anything. I received a call early in the morning stating they figured the issue was disconnecting a harness then saying your car runs great without it. They continue removing the harness making my car go crazy with codes and don’t even end up calling me back but when I call back, they tell me I have to pay without knowing the issue and saying I have to take it somewhere else. Horrible, a big disappointment and didn’t even try helping with the situation. Don’t say you don’t work on modified cars after you’ve already started working on it and make the car worse.
Hey Sam, As we discussed in person, your Mercedes that you just purchased has aftermarket modifications installed. Had you disclosed that information when making your appointment we could have saved you a tow to the shop but that was not discussed until the vehicle was towed in. This effects the way the sensors and computers interpret the data. We are not a performance shop nor do we specialize in tuned vehicles. We noticed that there was a jumper harness installed directly on the fuel rail. The vehicle arrived in limp mode not able to produce over 2,000 RPM. We removed the jumper and installed the main harness and the vehicle got out of limp mode but now is able to see all of the vehicle true data and produced more codes. This would require a specialist to put the vehicle back into factory condition for us or even the dealership to work on your vehicle going forward. There was nothing more that we were willing to do at this time. I’m sorry that other shops are also busy at this time and you will be without your vehicle for a few weeks. Wish you the best of luck finding a shop that can service your tuned Mercedes. Blanard and the team at Advanced Auto Sports
